No Mayhem in May
May was a very quiet month after the festivities of March and April and there was only a weekend NOL trip to Canberra for Bruce. He had his best result this year in a National League Sprint race (4th).
Both Mason and Torren started Auskick which they are both enjoying, especially Torren, who no longer has to sit on the sidelines.
Sandra Tarr visited Melbourne for Kathryn's 40th birthday and we caught up with her and the kids on a rainy day for a play. They are still enjoying living in Perth and may extend their stay for another couple of years.
At school, Mason learnt about the weather with various experiments, and they are currently doing a unit on their Neighbourhood. This has involved walking around the neighbourhood, drawing a map of their walk, creating their own ideal neighbourhoods and finally making a massive 3D map to put on a wall in their classroom.
At kinder, Torren has been borrowing books out of the kinder 'library', doing lots and lots of drawing, and playing with his friends. At the end of May, the kinder embarked on an excursion to a fire station. It was a very enjoyable morning and they got to see a fireman slide down a pole, climb in and out of a fire engine, watch the roof and door of a car being opened with the jaws of life and hold a hose that was spraying water at a pretend fire. But the best part was, of course, the bus trip to the fire station.
