Car Washing

This has almost been our one and only very hot day of the Summer. The kids helped Bruce wash the car (first time in about 3 months) and ended up in their bathers and very wet.

Enchantment

We had a great day on the Mornington Peninsula today. We went to the Enchanted Maze Garden at Arthurs Seat. Lots of lovely gardens, great mazes and a fabulous children's maze that had several 'rooms', including a fairy garden.
There were some Survivor style brain teaser puzzles/mazes and even a tube slide. We ended the day at Dromana, where the kids braved the cold water of the bay and then had fish and chips for dinner, overlooking the beach.

Australia Day

It wouldn't be Australia Day unless you went for a bike ride, stopped a playground and played some cricket.....

Festival of Parties

January has been party month. At one stage, we had nine (9) birthday invitations on the fridge; 5 of them for Torren, 2 for Sophie and 2 for Bruce and I. Even though Mason didn't receive any invitations, he was able to stay at three of the parties so talk of unfairness was minimised. This is Sophie getting ready to attend Georgie's fairy party. (Of course).

Brickvention

This would have to be the highlight of the school holidays; a trip into the city to line up with the masses at the Town Hall to see the Brickvention Lego exhibition. People who cannot possibly have normal jobs, relationships or lives have built the most amazing creations out of Lego and they all come together to display them for one day a year.

Hogwart Castle.............. Wild West scene

St Kilda Tram and stop............. Street scape

Mini figs in a cinema

'The Love Boat'. Amazing creation of the ship. the amount of detail
was staggering. It took 300 hours to build, including 70 hours of
planning time.

Best in Show: Medieval German Village with white castle on the hill.
This was created without instruction sheets, just amazing creativity.
As with the boat, the amount of detail is phenomenal. The castle even opens
up to reveal furnished rooms inside.

Why walk around the house when you can dance....

Ho hum, another party at Fairyfields.

It is hard work being a fairy. You don't say no to parties at Fairyfields and when you are 4, you get ready for the 2pm party at 9am. It is just what you do.

MSAC

One of things on the boys' wishlist for Summer holidays was an outing to MSAC (Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Albert Park). It has a wave pool, water slide, diving pool, toddler area and three other pools. It is massive. It was loads of fun and the boys went straight for the water slide. There was no way I was going down it; went down one at Sea World and it scared the crap out of me. An excellent way to spend a warm day.
